Chilled Milk Drink with Full of Nuts Flavor (THANDAI RECIPE)

Thandai is a Cold Milk Drink prepared with a mixture of almonds, fennel seeds, watermelon kernels, rose petals, pepper, vetiver seeds, cardamom, saffron, milk and sugar. There are variants of thandai and the most common are badam (almond).

Ingredients For Thandai Powder
  • 15 Pieces of Almonds
  • 10 Pieces of Pistachios
  • 10 pieces Cashew
  • Pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tea spoon Fennel Seeds
  • Few Dried Rose Petals
  • 2 table spoon Melon Seeds
  • 1 table spoon Poppy Seeds
  • 5 Pepper Corns


Ingredients For Thandai
  • 4-5 cup Full cream Milk
  • 3/4 cup Sugar or depends on your taste
  • Pinch of Nutmeg Powder
  • Few Saffron Threads
  • 1 tea spoon Rose water


How to Make Thandai?
process: 

  • Add all powder ingredients into the blender and blend it and make a powder.
  • Take a 1 cup of milk and soak the powder for 2-3 hours.
  • Blend it again to make a smooth paste.
  • In another pot add blended mixture and rest of the milk and leave it in freeze for chilled.
  • Strain the soaked milk
  • Add nutmeg powder, sugar, rose water and saffron threads and Stir properly.
  • Thandai is ready. Garnish it with saffron, rose petals and dry fruits.
  • Serve Chilled.
